WASHINGTON, July 18 (Reuters) – The United States will announce a new pledge to buy $1.3 billion worth of military aid for Kyiv in its conflict with Russia in the coming days, two U.S. officials said.

Forty-eight hours before a global peace conference in Vienna, Austria, was to begin, the venue host abruptly cancelled. Peace, it seems, cannot be discussed, especially peace in Ukraine.

American Reaper Drones Debut over Philippine Land and Sea During Balikatan Exercise

SUBIC BAY, Philippines — The U.S. military has, for the first time, deployed some of its most lethal unmanned aircraft to the Philippines, where they’re participating in large-scale military drills this month.
A pair of MQ-9 Reapers – the same type of plane that carried out numerous strikes in combat zones over the past 16 years – are flying intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance missions during the annual Balikatan exercise.
